sept. 11 travesty

This hate-speech was posted on the Pasadena's Political Underbelly blog - look at the date! - on the anniversary of the devastating attack on the twin towers of the World Trade Center, New York City, September 11, 2001.

i was there. I witnessed the second plane hit Tower 2 - and knew at that moment - I was an eyewitness to the repurcussions of HATE.

Hate is Intolerable.

Anonymous posted: Face the facts. Blacks are the source of problems in the PUSD and Pasadena in general and always have been.

That's the racist part. The talker guy got it right.

[*see the post Dormitas is referring to below - note this guy calls himself "the real one [Paul] not the pretender" - could this be Paul Little? who was a frequent blogger on Rene Amy's hate-blog, I think so (see his profile below).]

Racist content on a blog is Intolerable.

YES, the moderator of this blog [could it be "Anonymous"?] carries FULL responsibility for the Content on his/her blog.

and YES - the Contributors (full list below) also carry Full responsibility for the Content on this blog [Dormitas is one of them, as is Paul Little and Aaron Proctor]

and YES - the other websites/blogs that provide convenient link-to's (links that carry you to this site immediately) carry FULL responsibility for Supporting the hate on this blog - and they include our Star New's blogs, the Foothill Cities blog and even Pasadena Now.

and YES, if there is hate on the level shown in the full 11/6/07 post (advocating the sterilization of poor black women!) in the content on a blog, those who continue to visit and post on a blog like this, even to disagree, are (inadvertently perhaps, but still) supporting the hate on that blog - in other words, racist hate like this, is being tolerated by the community.

yes, it could be argued (in a flimsy way) that this is an individual ethical decision - but I hold especially accountable, our local media supporting it - not only supporting Racism, but spreading it!! because this is the final result - racist hate is spread throughout the blogging community and via this, to our media [as has been proven] and to our community.

This is unconscionable.

Pasadena is so much better than this!

Pasadena is so much better than this.

I prefer to be optimistic. Mr. Diaz has identified a host of issues needing to be addressed.

Now I'm anxious to hear and see how he does that.

Our family's experiences with PUSD were very disappointing at the end. Nothing to do with race relations and everything to do with our concerns about academics and student support, as well as indifference and hostility from PUSD administrations.

All that aside, if his board has the guts to support real reform and Mr. Diaz can follow his assessments up with real actions, PUSD may begin systemic (not just school by school) improvements. But, more than a few heads will have to roll.

Always nice when anonymity allows the inner racist to surface.

If racial harassment occurs at PUSD schools and goes unpunished and unaddressed, it's more than just the fault of one racial group, it's the fault of those at the school sites and at 451 who should be doing everything possible to discourage that behavior, rather than turning a blind eye and enabling it to continue.
